Firearm Transfers

Firearm Transfers

What is an FFL Transfer?"

An FFL (Federal Firearms License) is required for the legal transfer of firearms between licensed dealers and individuals. If you purchase a firearm online or from an out-of-state seller, it must be shipped to an FFL holder to complete the transfer and background check in accordance with federal and state laws.

How FFL transfers work

Have the Firearm Shipped to Us: The preferred way to ship a serialized item to Elite Firearms is from another licensed FFL. On occasion, we will accept transfers from individuals, however you must receive prior approval before having a transfer sent in this way. Please email elitefirearmsllc@gmail.com if this applies to you.

Transfer Fees: $40 per Firearm, $100 per NFA item.

Complete the Transfer In-Store: Bring a valid government-issued ID and be ready to complete ATF Form 4473 for your background check. Only the person named on the transfer paperwork can legally complete the transfer.

What’s Needed on a Firearm Transfer
To avoid delays or rejected shipments

  • Include your full name and contact info with the firearm
  • Ensure the firearm is shipped from a valid FFL dealer
  • Firearm must be serialized
  • Bring a valid government-issued photo ID at pickup
  • You Must Be the Purchaser: The person named on the invoice or transfer paperwork must be the one to complete the transfer.

30-Day Transfer Window

Firearms must be picked up within 30 days of arrival. If no ATF Form 4473 is completed within that time, the item is considered abandoned and becomes the property of Elite Firearms.

All ATF approved NFA items (suppressors & SBR’s) must be picked up within 30 days of notification of the approved Tax-Stamp. Any NFA items not picked up within the 30 day period will result in the cancellation of the approved Tax Stamp and the NFA item will then be considered abandoned and will become the property of Elite Firearms.
